A warm welcome to Thatchwood Country Lodge in St Francis bay. Thatchwood is a luxury guesthouse situated in between 2 golf courses , on one side the famous St Francis Links golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus and adjacent to our garden the 6th tee of the local St Francis golf course So a heaven for golfers.

The atmosphere and ambiance of this luxury guesthouse are a blend of warm homely hospitality, great cuisine and friendly service. Our beautifully thatched lodge is decorated in a tastefully African style.

While you relax in our garden at the poolside you can see “the good”, “the bad” and “the ugly” teeing off on the golf course and you realize that you are not such a bad golfer after all.

On colder days you can enjoy the pleasant company from “Harries bar” whilst discussing the worlds problems near a warm and inviting fireplace.

Francolins, guinea fowls weavers and a host of other birds will entertain you in the tropical garden. The lodge is located on the golf course, the manicured greens and fairways stretch into the distance towards the sea providing a tranquil, extended garden to the tastefully upmarket thatched lodge.

You do not have to be a golfer as there are many things to do and to see, enjoying the beautiful beaches, watching the whales and the dolphins, hiking in the nature reserves and much more as you will find out when visiting us.
Thatchwood in St Francis is the perfect base to explore the area, as we are centrally located between the Garden route, Route 62, the Baviaanskloof and the many malaria free game reserves like Addo, Shumba, Kariega, Shamwari etc etc.
